Dr. Chen has a strong interdisciplinary academic background and has obtained a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Jilin University, a PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University in the United States. He has been deeply involved in tumor drug design and preclinical development for over 20 years, holding more than 120 global invention patents and multiple achievements published in top international journals.
As a serial entrepreneur, he founded his first biotech company in 2009, the original dual targeted HDAC/DNA chemotherapy drug NL-101, with overseas equity authorization of 84.5 million US dollars, and the project was simultaneously promoted to clinical trials in multiple countries. Founded in 2015, Lupeng Pharmaceutical has built a globally leading BeyondX oral drug chemistry platform, creating covalent/non covalent dual-mode, protein degradation PROTAC and other special sub platforms.
He led the development of three core clinical pipelines: the world's first dual mechanism BTK inhibitor, Lobutinib LP-168, which was commercialized domestically in 2026; LP-118 and LP-108 are simultaneously conducting multi center clinical trials in China and the United States. As the core inventor of BTK and Bcl-2 series innovative drugs, his research and development achievements have repeatedly appeared at top international oncology academic conferences such as ASCO and ASH, continuously leading the forefront innovation of blood tumor targeted drugs.
