He completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Clinical Medicine at Sun Yat-sen Medical University from 1985 to 1991. After graduation, he has been dedicated to the prevention, control, and clinical management of infectious diseases. From 2011 to 2012, he was a visiting scholar at Northwestern University in the United States, focusing on the pathogenesis of end-stage liver disease and immune-mediated liver disorders, as well as exploring the clinical application and translation of immunotherapies and stem cells in complex and critical liver conditions. He has led and participated in multiple national key research and development projects and National Natural Science Foundation of China grants. As first or corresponding author, he has published over 50 papers in SCI-indexed journals, including Hepatology. His innovative clinical research significantly improved survival rates for patients with hepatitis B-related liver failure and has been widely adopted in clinical practice, cited in several clinical guidelines. His achievements were awarded the First Prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2016 and the First Prize of Guangdong Medical Science and Technology Award in 2023. Additionally, he has conducted relevant research on hepatitis B cure and liver cancer treatment. In 2025, as deputy head of the provincial expert team, he went to the front line to guide the prevention and control efforts against "two fevers" (Dengue fever and Chikungunya).
