CPIC 2026 Joins the Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week as a Major Addition

May 29,2026

Approved by the Shanghai Biomedical Science and Technology Industry Promotion Center, the inaugural "Great Power New Drugs" Global Conference (CPIC 2026), hosted by TONACEA, has been officially incorporated into the 2026 Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week series of events, injecting strong momentum into Shanghai's efforts to connect with global innovation resources.

Currently, Shanghai is fully committed to building itself into the "world's most friendly city for innovative drugs and medical devices." With its robust innovation ecosystem, efficient review and approval processes, diverse payment guarantees, and open international environment, Shanghai offers the optimal end-to-end solution for global pharmaceuticals and medical devices, from R&D to application. CPIC 2026, taking place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), will form a "Hongqiao–Zhangjiang" dual-core synergy with the Industry Week events, further consolidating Shanghai's core position as a highland for Chinese biomedical innovation and an international hub, and building a broad gateway for Chinese new drugs to reach the world.

The inaugural "Great Power New Drugs" Global Conference is scheduled for July 22–24, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Benchmarking the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, the conference pioneers the "Chinese Innovation – Global Collaboration – Shanghai Transaction" model, highlighting China's status as a major power in new drugs and driving Chinese innovation to lead the global health industry.

The conference is expected to exceed 20,000 participants, bringing together over 1,000 speakers across more than 60 thematic sessions, and organizing high-frequency one-on-one precision business matchmaking, comprehensively covering key issues and focal points in the globalization and collaboration of Chinese innovative drugs.

The Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week, since its inception in 2021, has been successfully held for five consecutive years. It has become Shanghai's most iconic international biomedical exchange and cooperation platform and an important window for the world to observe China's pharmaceutical innovation.

The two major events share the same goals and mission: both are dedicated to promoting the aggregation and integration of global biomedical innovation elements in Shanghai, facilitating the deep coupling of the innovation chain and industrial chain. Against the backdrop of Shanghai's biomedical industry scale continuously exceeding one trillion yuan and the accelerating pace of innovative drugs and devices "going out" and "bringing in," the strong synergy between CPIC 2026 and the 2026 Shanghai International Biomedical Industry Week will further elevate Shanghai's strategic node position in the global biomedical innovation network, accelerating the vision of "Chinese Innovation, Shared Globally" from aspiration to reality.

Conference preparations are progressing smoothly, with its international influence already apparent.

A top-tier lineup has been confirmed: a Presidium composed of over 50 leading figures from the domestic and international healthcare industry has been officially announced. Senior executives from multinational pharmaceutical companies such as Eli Lilly, Sanofi, Merck, Roche, Pfizer, Bayer, and Servier, leaders of top domestic innovative drug companies, and representatives from hundreds of star biotech companies including Ribo Life Sciences, Yilian Biotech, and Alnylam will gather in Shanghai. Three special sessions for Europe, BRICS countries, and Japan have been arranged. Legend Capital, Fangda Partners, Ernst & Young, and several other renowned institutions have confirmed as strategic partners.

Furthermore, the core speaker list has been released in advance through the CPIC official website, the TONACEA WeChat public account, and the "Great Power New Drugs" content collection. The one-on-one meeting booking system is now open (with an English guide available), supporting participants in locking in targets and making precise connections in advance.

Rooted in global vision, connecting to the industry's future. We sincerely invite global biomedical innovators, investors, and entrepreneurs to join this grand event.
