Over the past decade, China’s innovative pharmaceutical industry has risen rapidly and deeply integrated into the global pharmaceutical landscape, emerging as a top priority for multinational pharmaceutical companies in pipeline layout. The quantity and quality of China’s innovative drugs are fully commensurate with China’s status as a major country. Against this backdrop, the annual Global Conference on China’s Innovative New Drugs is poised to debut — and this embodies the mission of TONACEA.
TONACEA is one of the most influential cradles, weathervanes and top ecosystems in China’s innovative pharmaceutical industry. With the support of institutions including the Administrative Committee of Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District, TONACEA will co-host the inaugural Global Conference on China’s Innovative New Drugs from July 22 to 24, 2026, in partnership with multiple organizations. Benchmarking against the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, the conference will build a development model of China Innovation – Global Translation – Shanghai Transaction, consolidate China’s standing as a major powerhouse in new drug R&D, and drive Chinese innovation to lead the development of the global health industry.

The conference will widely invite core institutions including multinational pharmaceutical enterprises, domestic and international investment banks, commercial banks, and professional investment institutions, major stock exchanges, renowned law firms and accounting firms to gather in Shanghai. Participants will delve into one of the world’s most dynamic hubs for new drug innovation, conduct an in-depth inspection of China’s biomedical innovation ecosystem, visit core industrial parks and benchmark enterprises on-site, and engage in in-depth exchanges and one-on-one targeted business docking with over a thousand outstanding Chinese enterprises.
With a total floor area of over 1.5 million square meters, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) is shaped like a four-leaf clover. Taking the Central Square as the flower center, its four leaf-shaped main buildings stretch out in all directions. The complex consists of exhibition venues, a convention center, commercial plazas, office buildings and InterContinental Hotel. Completed in 2014, it fully commenced operation in 2016.
It has won numerous honors, including the Zhan Tianyou Award — the highest accolade in China’s civil engineering industry — in 2017. After the conclusion of the China International Import Expo, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) quickly became a popular landmark.

Besides the main venue, all other sessions and exhibitions of the CPIC Conference will be held in Hall 4.2.
Hall 4.2 occupies the upper floor of one leaf of the NECC’s iconic four-leaf clover layout. It covers a building area of 26,477 square meters with a clear height of 17 meters, standing as a premium high-end conference zone within the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Halls A, B, C and D each span 1,673 square meters, which will be divided into 8 independent meeting rooms for parallel sessions simultaneously. The remaining nearly 10,000 square meters of public area will be used for exhibition displays, one-on-one business exchanges, and various launch events during the conference.
